Here’s a bunch of storyboards and a sample of script that I did with Renkewitz Studios for three Spyro the Dragon movies.
EXT. MOUNT MALEFOR
The CAMERA moves in towards MOUNT MALEFOR, smoke is rising and thunderous flashes ‘Ka-Boom!’ all around us. A portentous and ominous ‘Evil’ music theme is playing. Two moons can be seen in the dark sky, edging ever closer towards the Eclipse.
The Night of Eternal Darkness will be soon be upon us. When two celestial moons come together in a great eclipse…
A huge beam of light pours out of the center of the mountain.
…evil spirits will once more roam our land.
The CAMERA moves through the beam down into the heart of the mountain.
Gaul! Gaul!! Gaul!!!
The CAMERA moves in fast on a close-up of GAUL’S FACE. Gaul’s hooded eyes are shifting from side to side, taking in the scene. He raises one finger to his lips and the crowd IMMEDIATELY silences. We can almost see his tonsils vibrate as he roars angrily
We hear a very brief kerfuffle in the background as one unfortunate ape drops something ‘clangy’ to the ground.
The CAMERA picks out the tiny unfortunate Ape briefly and then returns to GAUL as he raises his arms.
Even now, our enemies prepare to defend the Temple…
SPYRO is battling for his life against a horde of flying DREADWINGS. He twists and turns, ducks and swoops, firing off firebolts left and right. He’s fighting gamely, but losing…
As the blackness of their wings starts to swirl and engulf Spyro, we hear a ghostly voice…
The scene dissolves to a clear twilight sky again, and we see SPYRO jolting awake. The voice of GAUL becomes SPARX.
Spyro! You ok? Another nightmare, huh?
SPYRO rises to his feet, and the CAMERA focuses on his face, looking up to the sky. SPARX moves in beside him, also looking…
